Joy Franklin

Crisp, clean lines, bold or monochromatic color and often a conceptual edginess characterize Joy's work. Pushing the boundaries of flat glass into sculptural realms, the glass is cut and coldworked, then assembled into statements designed to entice or provoke the viewer. A fine arts degree in painting has had an important influence on her work. Recent pieces have included the use of internal lighting and painted canvas. Her work has been exhibited in museums and juried shows around the country.
